Almacen muy grande tipo Deal?... convirtiendose lentamente en un estudio de grabación de lujo... pre-producción... comenzamos a grabar el nuevo albúm en el otoño! Con reminiscencias de 'Evolver', no dicen ustedes?! De hecho nosotros (SI, Maestro Dave M. y Yo) hablamos de grabar aspectos del proceso y quien sabe, he? Seguro todos amamos grabar DVDs. 'Fly-on-the-wall', No es cierto? (He, No lo promotemos aun, pero definitivamente se habló al respecto!). Asi que ya, Dave está un poco loco con respecto al estudio y meter a la banda ahí, y todos los demás participantes para aterrizar algunas pistas y sacar el próximo Albúm Stellar de Megadeth! Hoy fui a Los Angeles a hablar con nuestro representante Mark Adelman acerca de la agenda para el próximo disco y la proxima gira.Y mañana voy al depósito para comenzar su transformación en el nuevo estudio de Megadeth, como también a empezar a preparar la Guitar Center Session del 10 de Julio, y el evento Affliction Banned del 19 de Julio.Más sueños y pesadillas en los post sobre la gira que he estado haciendo ultimamente cuando vuelva mañana.Finalmente, Megadeth quisiera extender su más profundo agradecimiento a Megannie por todo su trabajo voluntario en nuestros sitios de MySpace para Megadeth y Gigantour, y desearle lo mejor en su nueva carrera y vida en Sirius Radio. Buen trabajo, Annie!

Today I went up to LA to talk to manager Mark Adelman about the schedule for the next record and next tour.And tomorrow I go to the warehouse to start its transformation into the new Megadeth studio, as well as start preparing for the Guitar Center Session on July 10th, and the Affliction Banned Event on July 19th, 2008.More dreams and nightmares from the touring posts I have been putting up lately after I get back from the warehouse/studio tomorrow.Finally, we with Megadeth would like to extend our deepest thanks to Megannie for all of her volunteer work on our MySpace sites for Megs and Gigantour, and wish her well with her new career and life over at Sirius Radio. Great job, Annie!

Ahora, nos acercamos a la segunda gira mundial con los Drovers y algunas de las fechas y lugares y personas podrían mezclarse aqui, así que perdonenme o no!Pero aún no tenemos nuevo disco.Afortunadamente, el final de esta gira nos encuentra tocando con muchas mas bandas con las que crecimos que podríamos haber imaginado, el descubrimiento de terribles errores en la contratación de personas, cambio de representantes por uno realmente cohesivo por un buen tiempo, los increíbles rigores físicos con los que terminamos (todos se enfermaron incluso Chris Broderick - que es saludable y fuerte como un caballo), un disco – que para la mayoría fue recibido positivamente a nivel mundial – que me devolvería la mentalidad de banda con los tres otros muchachos, el duro housecleaning (acá se refiere a la limpieza del personal en relación a despidos) nuevamente, y el reemplazo de otro miembro.Nunca he estado del otro lado de un músico dejando Megadeth sin volverse una mal persona, y en esta oportuniad incluso me sorprendió, pero hicimos un gran disco y volvimos a hacer una gira con Chris, y gracias a Dios que él sea tan bueno, porque logramos continuar como si las cosas no estuviesen completamente al revés. Pero eso se está alejando de mi. Y todavía somos amigos con Glen, asi que para los enemigos, creo que un gran "whoops" sería apropiado. Dudo que vayan a admitir que se equivocaron y que había la posibilidad que un guitarrista se vaya de la banda y aún ser amigos luego de dejar Megadeth.El primer show de James Lomenzocon nosotros fue en Dubai. Tocamos con nuestros amigos de Testament, y otras bandas que deben haber impresionado a alguien, supongo. Como sea, no pudimos ver a Saxon, que todos queríamos, porque por su canción “The Crusader” o “Crusader”, no estoy seguro, les prohibieron tocar (creo que les prohibieron ir a Dubai - en realidad).FINALMENTE empezamos la gira con “Heaven and Hell”. Mi representante y agente (que fué agente de ‘Down’ y ‘Heaven and Hell’ también) estuvo allí para el gran comienzo de la gira.Y todo lo demás no importa por los últimos seis meses de infierno en el estudio … y los aviones y … y los buses … y los hoteles … y el esperma cubriendo las colchas y sofás en todos los hoteles y vestuarios. Now, we are nearing the start of the 2nd world tour with the Drovers and some of the dates and places and people may be mixed up here, so please forgive me or dont! But we still have no new record.Fortunately, this tour would end up with us touring with more of the bands that we have grown up with and loved than we would ever imagine, the discovery of terrible mistakes with hiring people, changing management for a real cohesive manager for a real long time, the unbelievable physical rigors of this last tour at the end (everyone got sick even Chris Broderick - who is healthy and strong as a horse), a record – that for the most part was received positively worldwide – that would give me back a “band” mentality with three other guys, the ensuing and serious housecleaning 'again', and the replacement of another member.I have never been on the other side of a musician leaving Megadeth without being turned into the bad guy, and this was one that even surprised me, but we made a great record and went right back out into touring with Chris, and thank god he was as good as he was, because we just kept going almost as if things hadn’t been turned completely inside-out. But that is getting way ahead of myself. And Glen and I are still friends too, so to the haters, I guess a big "whoops" would be in order. I doubt they would admit they were wrong and there was a possibility of a guitarist parting and still being friends after playing and leaving Megadeth.James Lomenzo’s first show with us was in Dubai. We played with our friends in Testament, and some other bands that were also impressive to someone, I guess. However, we didn’t get to see Saxon, which we all wanted to do, but because of their song “The Crusader” or “Crusader”, I am not sure, got them banned at the concert (I think they are banned in Dubai - in general, actually).FINALLY we start the tour with “Heaven and Hell”. My manager and agent (who was the agent for ‘Down’ and ‘Heaven and Hell’ also) were there for the big start of the the tour.And everything else doesn’t matter for the last six months of hell in the studio … and the planes and … and the busses … and the hotels … and the sperm covered bedspreads and couches in all the hotels and dressing rooms. We are ready to go, until I see the day sheet and the running times. Now I am pissed.

Asi es, hoy 10 de Julio de 2008 la leyenda viviente del metal, fundador de Megadeth en el año 1983 e influencia de toda una generacion de guitarrristas, se presentara en el salon de Guitar Center en Hollywood, y el ganador del concurso para tener una clase particular con el maestro Mustaine es nada menos que un inberbe muchacho de 14 años que responde al nombre de Justin, y es un tipico niño que practica skateboard, es el mayor de 5 hermanos, de padres divorciados, ha vivido 13 años con su madre y este año en enero se ha mudado con su padre y comenzo asi su pasion por el rock, un amigo le ha vendido su primera guitarra y con su propio dinero ha comprado un mini amplificador de segunda mano...

Sus principales influencias estan en Dave Mustaine, Dimebag Darryl, Kirk Hammet y Paul de SlipKnot.

Entonces, salimos de gira con Shawn y Glen y todo es documentado, y en esa época también está con nosotros James Macdonough. Shawn termina en el hospital la primera noche por vertigo y confiesa que sólo ha tocado en dos conciertos antes de esa noche.

Así que comienza el tremendo trabajo de reconstruir la banda y recuperar nuestra credibilidad. James Macdonough había estado en la banda lo suficiente para participar en el ampliamente aclamado “That One Night” DVD en vivo en uno de mis lugares favoritos del mundo; Buenos Aires, Argentina. Este DVD demuestra que Megadeth está en una cáscara de nuez. Casi puedes avanzar hasta “Symphony Of Destruction” y eso es todo lo que separa las audiencias de noche a noche. James, y los Drover y yo, no nos conectamos con Macdonough y el vive actualmente en el norte de USA en la costa oeste.

Una vez que James y Megs tomaron caminos separados, me sentía muy emocionado acerca de James Lomenzo o “JLo” como le gusta que le llamen. Y ustedes saben que lo jodí por su apodo. Me sentí eufórico cuando escuché su linea de bajo para “Washington Is Next.” Aún cuando estaba en la cima con posbilemente el mejor bajista hasta la actualidad, y un viejo amigo, era también el comienzo de casi un año y medio del infierno que mencioné.

Cuando James entró teniamos diferentes representantes y diferentes equipos de productores e ingenieros comparándolas con el final. Comenzamos con Jeff Balding, un productor e ingeniero a quien estimo muchísimo y temrinamos con Andy Sneap (lo cual fue grandioso). Y teníamos además una compañía diferente y termianmos con Mark Adelman de Azoff Music.

Suena excitante, verdad? Bueno, tenemos un montón de ratas debajo de la cubierta.

Luego de terminar el tour para “The System Has Failed” teníamos que enfrentarnos con la tristeza de tener que cancelar nuestras fechas en México, porque la última vez que tocamos allí, lo hicimos con Motley Crue, quienes fueron echados del escenario con butacas en llamas mientras la audiencia aclamaba por el regreso de Megadeth, el cuál fue uno de nuestros shows mas famosos. Realmente queríamos volver a Mexico City pero nuestro representante de esa época no pudo agendarnos a tiempo.

Seguidamente, nos separamos de este “tour manager”

Así que todos tomamos caminos diferentes, y aún tenía música guardada de cuando quise hacer mi disco doble solista. Recuerden que mencioné que la primera parte de este disco doble se convirtió en “The System Has Failed” y tenía la segunda parte escrita. Entonces cuando comenzamos la preproducción, estábamos muy lejos de donde deberíamos haber estado, más numerosos problemas que interrumpieron armar el disco, hacer conciertos, interrupciones bizarras, y así.

También había prometido a mi familia que estaría en casa por dos meses el último verano cuando los niños estuvieran de vacaciones. Lo hice porque el disco estaría terminado para entonces, pero los numerosos incovenientes e interrupciones terminaron moviendo la fecha de lanzamiento varios meses para mantener mi palabra y mi integridad, tuve que sentarme en casa por los dos meses que mencioné que fueron los primeros dos meses de la campaña: NO PUDO HABER SIDO EL PEOR MOMENTO.

So, we go out on tour with Shawn and Glen and everything is documented, and we have James Macdonough with us at the time too. Shawn ends up in the hospital the first night from Vertigo and confesses that he has only played only two concerts before that night.Thus starts the tremendous work of rebuilding the band and earning back our credibility. James Macdonough was in the band long enough to participate in the widely acclaimed “That One Night” Live DVD from one of my favorite spots in the world; Buenos Aires, Argentina. This DVD shows what Megadeth is in a nutshell. You can almost fast-forward to “Symphony Of Destruction” and that is all that separates the audiences from night to night. The Drover’s and I, did not connect with Macdonough and last I knew James currentlyis married and lives North of the USA on the west coast.Once James and Megs parted ways, I was really excited about James Lomenzo or “JLo” as he likes to be called. And you know I gave him shit about his nickname. I felt euphoric when I heard his bass line for “Washington Is Next.” Even though I was back on top with quite possibly the best bassist yet, and a plain old pal, this was also the beginning of almost 1 and a half years of hell I mentioned.When James came in we had different management and a different Prod./Eng. team as compared to things at the end. We started with Jeff Balding, a producer and engineer that I hold very, very high in my esteem and finished with Andy Sneap (which was a great thing to have had happen). And we also had a different company and finished with Mark Adelman from Azoff Music.Sounds exciting, right? Well, we had a lot of rats below the poop deckAfter finishing the world tour for “The System Has Failed” we had to deal with the sadness of having to cancel our Mexican dates, because the last time we played in Mexico City, we played with Motley Crue, and they got booed off-stage and pelted with burning seat cushions while the audience cheered Megadeth to come back out, and this was one of the most famous Megadeth shows ever. We were really looking forward to coming back to Mexico City and the tour manager at the time did not have enough time scheduled for us to get to Mexico from Oregon in time.We soon after parted ways with this “tour manager.”So, we all went our separate ways, and I still had music left over from when I went in to do my double studio record as a soloist. Remember I mentioned that the first record of this supposed double-studio record was what made up “The System Has Failed” and I had the second half of this record already written. So when we started the preproduction, we were way farther along than we should have been, but there were numerous problems that interrupted the making of the record, doing concerts, having all kinds of bizarre interruptions, and so on.I also made a promise to my family that I would be home for two months last summer when the kids got out of school. I did this because the record was supposed to be done by then, but numerous inconveniences and interruptions, like I fore mentioned, ended up moving our release date back several months and in order to keep my word and my integrity, I had to sit home for the two months I mentioned - which were the first two months of the campaign - IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE TIMING.

Feliz 4 de Julio para todos nuestros fans norteamericanos! Éste será un fin de semana divertido para mucha gente.Tengo un reunión hoy, y he estado tratando de recuperer todo nuestro equipo desparramado alrededor del mundo. Heblé con James y Chris durante los últimos días sea por teléfono o por SMS, y vamos a comenzar a organizar el estudio luego del fin de semana. Ésto significa que tendremos un lugar para ensayar, así como también un estudio para demos del nuevo material.Hablando de cosas nuevas, como muchos de ustedes saben voy a realizar una presentación en el Guitar Center el 10 de Julio, y que Megadeth se presentará este mes en Anaheim para Affliction y su evento de Artes Marciales Mezcladas. Recibí un pedido bastante obvio sobre la canción que debemos tocar que no he tocado en casi 10 años, y no estoy seguro si siquiera la recuerdo, pero si aún puedo cantar a esa altura y suena bien, existe la chande de que estemos tocando algo del KIMB.Dios, sigo emocionado por los últimos 16 meses de gira, las victorias, y aún más victorias, y sólo una vez en mucho tiempo hubo problemas, pero aún así tratamos de aislarnos completamente del mundo durante los 90 minutos que tocaríamos cada noche.Supongo que el punto obvio para empezar sería con la escritura y las grabaciones demo de éste último disco.Había estado viviendo de nuevo en casa en Arizona, y trabajando en las canciones para el disco doble solista que quería hacer. Durante las sesiones de “System Has Failed” la gente de EMI me dijo que les debía otro disco de Megadeth y que mi disco solista era genial, pero que necesitaban otro disco de Megadeth.Asi es que cambié el disco de “Dave Mustaine – The System Has Failed” a “Megadeth – The System Has Failed.” Aún sonaba igual.Entró Glen Drover, James Macdonough, y el regreso de Nick Menza.Yo quería salir y promover este disco, pero Nick y Glen no congeniaron y Nick fué despedido por algo que dijo al hermano de Glen Shawn.Entonces entró Shawn, luego de que Glen luego de que Glen me asegurara de que podía tocar esas canciones, aunque tenía una menor distancia entre lo que él pensaba que eran las canciones y la forma real en que fueron tocadas. Shawn es uno de mis mejores amigos. (más mañana)

Happy July 4th to all of our American fans! This is going to be a fun weekend for a lot of people. I have a meeting up north today, and have been trying to get all of our gear back from all over the world. I talked to James and Chris in the last few days either by phone or via text, and we are going to start organizing the studio after the weekend. This means that we will have a rehearsal place, as well as a demo studio for new stuff. Speaking of new stuff, many of you know I am doing a performance at Guitar Center July 10th, and that Megadeth is doing a performance coming up this month in Anaheim for Affliction and their Mixed Martial Arts event. I have gotten a really obvious request for a song for the performance that I haven’t played in over ten years, and I am not sure that I even remember it, but if I can still sing that high and it sounds good, there is a chance that we will be playing something from KIMB. God, I am reeling from the last 16 months of touring, the victories, and even more victories, and only once in a great while were there ever problems, but even still we tried to put everything else in the world on the shelf for the 90 minutes that we would play each night. I guess the obvious place to start would be with the writing and demo taping this last record. I had been living at home still back in Arizona still, and working on songs for the double-solo record I wanted to make. During the “System Has Failed” sessions I was told by EMI that I owe them another Megadeth record and that my solo record was great, but that I needed to give them one more Megadeth record. So I changed the record from “Dave Mustaine – The System Has Failed” to “Megadeth – The System Has Failed.” It still sounds that same. In enters Glen Drover, James Macdonough, and the return of Nick Menza. I wanted to go out and support this record, but Nick and Glen didn’t congeal and Nick was sent home from something he said to Glen’s brother Shawn.In came Shawn, after Glen assured me that he could do these songs, and even though he had the least distance between what he thought was that songs and the actual real way they were played. Shawn is one of my best friends. (more tomorrow)
